Ever since I saw Candace Cameron Bure’s amazing drapey chambray halter dress on Fuller House (Season 1, Episode 1; worn by D.J. Tanner), I have been wishing I had something similar for summer. Here is the exact dress from Fuller House: it’s a Bella Dahl Open Back Halter Dress (Image from Shopbop.com ).
My upper arms aren’t toned enough to wear the one from the TV show. Well, nnot unless someone wants to donate funds to me for front and back armpit fat lipo (any takers? anyone?).
But it’s all good because I found something that has the same look but provides more coverage. Plus, it’s a little longer, too; definitely a plus since I wanted to be able to wear it to school. It’s the J.Crew Drapey Chambray Dress ($98.00, J.Crew.com).
I have kind of yucky knees, but despite that the dress was very flattering and I got a lot of compliments on it. You could wear it with a tank or tee underneath it and unbutton the front, and I can also see it with a cargo vest, cardigans, and scarves. So versatile!
Here’s a close-up of those beautiful earrings. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but they are a two-tone bright coral-red and light gold color. Stunning! They came from an Etsy shop called Annes Beaded Jewelry. You will want to favorite this shop if you like seed bead jewelry as much as I do! She’s very talented.
The only thing I’m kind of stuck on with this dress is what sort of statement necklaces might look good with it. I was thinking a mid-length turquoise and coral-beaded necklace? Something with a bright pop would be good I think. I’d love more ideas: how would you style this dress?
