Pattern Mixing: Leopard and Stripes

I’ve seen leopard and stripes mixed well and not=so-well. I think when it’s done right it usually follows the golden standard of pattern mixing: mix a large scale pattern with a small scale pattern.

Today I tried a small scale mixing leopard (or maybe cheetah?) print with larger scale stripes. I kept the rest of the outfit simple so the print mix would really stand out. I think it turned out pretty well!

Plus, the teacher comfort factor was definitely there. Between the low-heeled Frye boots and the stretchy material of everything I was wearing, I was super comfortable and able to flail my arms about to my heart’s desire while teaching. Oh, and these Frye Melissa Slouch boots are to die for!! I got mine for just $110 on eBay because they were a store try-on pair. They still looked and felt (and smelled, thank goodness!) brand new!
