I used to love bomber jackets back in the day (the day being junior high school). Pretty sure I haven’t worn one since then….until now.
This bomber is heavy enough to be work as a light jacket outside, but light enough to wear indoors (like in a chilly classroom!), too. The sizing was true. I wanted it a little loose, so I sized up to a L. The sleeves are a little short, but I think they’re supposed to be (so you can push them up easily – looks cute that way!).
I can see wearing this bomber with white jeans, black jeans, regular jeans (like here), distressed jeans, a t-shirt dress, faux leather pants, and maybe even this pair of black and white gingham-checked pixie pants from Old Navy (these are just $14.99 right now!):
The jacket was really comfortable and I got a lot of compliments on it when I wore it to school.
It’s hard to see the color in these pictures due to the lighting in my classroom (and my….uh….less-than-professional photography skills), but it’s a rich, vivid burgundy-red color. It’s really dark as you can see here, but when the light hits the folds it’s gorgeous.
My Review of Shein.com
I got the bomber from Shein, which is an inexpensive Chinese global retailer. I’ve heard of them before, but I had never ordered from them. I had a good experience even though I’ve seen mixed reviews. I think you have to be careful to read the size charts, and you also have to not be in a big hurry since things are coming from China. Their website was easy to navigate, so no problems there. I did end up returning two items (because I didn’t read the size charts carefully….) but the return process was easy. I just printed a USPS shipping label, stuck it onto the package, and dropped it in the mail. The prices are FABULOUS and the quality of the items I received was good. I don’t know much about the sourcing of their products, and that might be something to look into, but as far as my shopping experience with Shein goes, it was great!
