You guys, have you been to Payless Shoes lately? If it’s been a while, it’s time to get back there or hit their online store because you could build a complete every-occasion summer sandal wardrobe without shelling out much money.
What I love about Payless is that you can get several pairs of shoes for the same price you’d pay for just one pair of shoes someplace else. Granted, you shouldn’t expect a super-inexpensive pair of shoes to last forever. But then again, I also don’t feel too bad if I get a few years’ worth of wear out of a pair of cheap shoes. That said, in my closet right now you can find a pair of flat black studded gladiator sandals from Payless that I bought back in 2003 — I still wear them quite bit every summer!
I’m really excited to be partnering with Payless to share some of my favorite summer sandal picks! Before we go any farther, you should know that I was given a Payless gift card to pick out some cuuuuute sandals (I’ll tell you which ones I chose in a bit), and clicking on some of the links in this post may result in my earning a modest referral fee or commission.
BUDGET SANDALS FOR EVERY OCCASION
The 12 Payless sandals I chose can take you pretty much through an entire summer, from anything to errands to a barbecue to a summer date night or wedding. Well, someone else’s wedding, that is. Check out the description corresponding to each shoe’s number below for more details.
Oh, and keep in mind that the prices I’m listing below are BEFORE any sales or coupons, and if you’ve ever been to Payless you know there’s usually some sort of BOGO, buy one get one 1/2 off, or percentage discount being offered at any given time (at the time I wrote this post you could get 20% off with promo code ZZBOGO20).
1. Sloan Crossband Slide Sandal, $19.99
This adorable slide sandal has an espadrille edge and it’s flat, but not too flat, so it should be good for actual walking. I love the floral print, but it also comes in navy and a crisp white.
2. Stella Embellished Slide, $24.99
This flat slide is a stunner that you could just as easily wear with ripped up denim as with a cute dress or jumpsuit. It comes in off-white and black and is flat enough to move in.
3. Spangle Ruffle Flat Sandal, $14.99
I chose this cute flat sandal for the fringe! The upper is a soft suede and the pink color is super-cute. This sandal also comes in black and a dusty blue.
4. Teddi Crossband Flat Sandal, $19.99
This classic, warm flat is the type I love to wear nearly every day in the summer. It has a boho-natural feel but also looks clean and simple. I’d pair them with white jeans and a nautical striped top or with a swing dress.
5. Blake Platform Sandal, $34.99
These sandals have a bit of a heel, but because they’re platforms it’s not as much of a grade change as it could be. I love the edgy look of these sandals in black, but they also come in brown. They’d be perfect with jeans and a kimono or with a chambray or shirtdress.
6. Wallis Pool Slide, $16.99
I love how these slides have a sporty, modern look. I looked into some Adidas slides but put the kibosh on them because of the price. These look comfy and stylish, and I wouldn’t be afraid to get them wet at the pool or the beach. These slides come in other fun colors (some of them involving FURRY tops!).
7. Thatch Flat Sandal, $29.99
Cork? I’m in. I have an affinity for Kork-ease sandals because I love the look and comfort that comes with cork. These cuties have a cork bottoms and the top is sleek and simple, which I love. Top that off with a flat shoe that gives you a smidge of height and that pretty much equals perfect. These come in white, rose gold, and black.
8. Ryan High Wedge Sandal, $29.99
Can you see wearing these to a summer wedding or date night? I love them in RED for a pop of color, but they’re also available in a bright navy blue, white, and black. These would be perfect for a 4th of July party, too! They have stretchy elastic uppers and cork (yes!!) wedges, so they could be made casual or dressy.
9. Christian Siriano Reece Bow Mule, $29.99
These. Are. Stunning. I love the pale blush color that is a suede-like material, and they also come in black suede or silver metallic. These would be perfect for a meeting, church, or anything else where you want a more elegant look. I love the Christian Siriano for Payless collaboration – so many cute shoes and accessories.
10. Christian Siriano Nikolle Low Heel Slide, $29.99
Everyone needs a low-heeled slide in their shoe wardrobe, and these do not disappoint. You could go with classic, versatile black or taupe suede in this shoe, or you could go the statement shoe route and choose the jacquard floral style. You know that’s what I’d do.
11. Skyline Two-Band Platform Sandal, $29.99
These are the sandals that I bought! I love a platform sandal that can give me a bit more
height perspective on the world. I love the boho feel of the espadrille sides, the chunky soles, and the two-strap style is so on-trend for this summer. I bought these in white because I wanted a more sporty, modern look (I already have several pairs of Birkenstocks). These sandals also come in metallic silver. So hard to choose!
12. Rae Chopout Mule, $29.99
These beauties would honestly be great for spring, summer, and fall. I’d probably even wear them in winter if it weren’t too cold out. I love the cutout design, and the stacked heel is beautiful. These also come in pink and a dusty blue. I’d probably stick with the taupe in this design just to let the style do the talking.
Although I’m only officially featuring 12 pairs of sandals in this post, there was a 13th pair I couldn’t get out of my head. And I’m not particularly superstitious, but I am just Type A enough to want to have an even number as opposed to an odd one. 🙂 So here is another cute pair of shoes I didn’t want you to miss seeing. They’re from Payless’s Fioni collection, which is pretty sweet in itself.
Starry Two-Piece Wedge Flat, $16.99
Doesn’t a classic shoe like this look great in a bright, fun color? This color is called “watermelon” and it makes me think of summer. This cute shoe also comes in black and nude suede. But you need the pink, no?
So, those are my TWELVE, not 13, picks. I can’t wait to see some of the new Payless styles coming out this fall. When pretty much everything is $30 or less, that makes it a whole lot easier to stay on-trend without killing your budget.
