Time to tackle those holiday shopping lists! I know people who buy Christmas gifts for others well in advance, and even pick up gifts throughout the year so they are ready to go when the holiday season hits. I am not usually one of those people. I’m assuming there must be more of us out there, so today I’m sharing a few great gift items for your moms, sisters, and friends. Truth be told, quite a few of these items would be great for the guys in your life as well. Most of the items in this gift guide are ones I’ve tried myself, so I can officially give my stamp of approval. I hope you find it helpful!

1. Vionic Slippers with Arch Support
These babies are on Oprah’s 2018 Favorite Things list, and as far as I know, Oprah never leads us wrong on those lists. I’m a huge fan of Vionic shoes in general because of how comfortable and stylish they are. The mule style slippers keep your tootsies warm, but I love the Relax Plush Slippers in leopard even more! These babies are number one on my own wish list.
2. GoPure Beauty 10-Item Complete Premium Skin Care System
This is the very skin care system I have been using. I switched to GoPure Beauty because their prices are AMAZING and their products are made in the USA with globally sourced active ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Shea Butter, Green Tea, Aloe Vera, Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil, and others. I’ve been using their serums for several months now (read about my experience with them here), and I recently added the cleanser, toner, eye gel, day/night moisturizers, microdermabrasion cream, and enzyme mask from the set you see here. I am so excited with the results I’m getting I will be doing another blog post on this good stuff very soon after the new year. If you have a friend who wants a good basic skincare system you can buy on your own (without having to go through a “friend who sells stuff”), this is perfect.
3. Homesick Hand-Poured Soy Candle
For those friends, mamas, or sisters who are far away and missing home, this candle is the perfect gift. Don’t worry, you can get all of the other states: this isn’t just an Illinois candle. Hard to believe anyone would be homesick for IL: I’ve lived in IL my whole life, so I feel qualified to say that. LOL! There’s nothing like a warm, flickering candle on a cold evening, and the Illinois-scented one smells like “grain fields and a floral bouquet of honeysuckle, lavender, white flower, and violets alongside light breezes, and a touch of vanilla and lemon.” Each state has its own unique scent!
4. Instant Pot Programmable Pressure Cooker
Have you jumped on the Instant Pot train yet? If you have, you know how awesome these babies are. If you have a friend, sis, or mom who hasn’t tried one yet, you can help her out this holiday season. These little pressure cookers do so much more: they’re also a slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, saute, yogurt maker, and warmer. Hop onto Pinterest to see a gazillion ways to make your life easier with an Instant Pot.
5. BP Leopard Print Scarf
This leopard print is one of the most versatile I’ve seen: it’s not too animal-y (know what I mean?), but also not too cartoony. It’s lightweight enough for spring and summer, but 100% on-trend for fall and winter, too. Your mom, sister, or friend definitely needs one of these in her life.
6. OPI Holiday Favorites 2018 Nail Lacquer Mini-Pack
The color selection in this year’s OPI Holiday mini-pack is phenomenal! It’s a great mix of classics and trends, and it happens to contain three of my favorite shades: Bubble Bath (the best clean-looking pale pink) and Lincoln Park After Dark (a gorgeous deep navy).
7. Kate Spade New York Initial Mug
Because doesn’t every girl need a mug with her initial on it? This cutie is part of the Kate Spade New York “It’s Personal” monogrammed collection.
8. SmileBrilliant cariPRO Ultrasonic Electric Toothbrush
This toothbrush is another of my all-time favorite products. I first tried it last summer (read about my results in the first 2 weeks of use alone) and I loved it so much I bought them for my husband and all three sons. They all love it, too! Okay, maybe a toothbrush is a bit unconventional as a holiday gift, but this is one of those game-changer items. And have I got a discount for you: you can get 50% off of this baby with promo code EVERYDAYTEACHER50. You and your friend/mom/sis can thank me later.
9. Yeti 20 oz Rambler Drink Tumbler
Yetis are the best way to keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold. I have the 20 oz Rambler in seafoam (a pretty mint color), and I use it almost every day to bring my matcha latte to school. There are so many great colors to choose from (I love the coral and olive green colors!). You want to make sure you get one with the “Magslider” lid: this type of lid can be opened and closed, and although it won’t completely eliminate leaking of you turn it upside down (just don’t!), it’s a lot better than the regular plastic lids with the openings that just pour out. This is another gift idea that’s great for everyone, not just your mom/sis/friend.
Have you smelled this scent by Philosophy? It’s heavenly. If you like their hugely popular Fresh Cream scent, you’ll love this even more. It smells like the Fresh Cream, but with noticeable honey mixed in. Here’s how they describe it: honey notes and light, fluffy cream. You can also get Vanilla Fig or Lemon Custard scented sets at this link. Decisions, decisions! And if you’ve ever used Philosophy body souffles, you know how hydrating and luxurious they are. This set comes with one 64-fl oz shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath; two 16-fl oz glazed body souffles; and one 8-fl oz body spritz.
11. Buffalo Plaid Checked Floor Mat
Because all the cool kids are layering their door mats now! But seriously, I bought several of these so I could use one in my laundry room as well. It’s such a clean, crisp print it instantly upgrades the room. They can be used with pretty much any style, from farmhouse to rustic modern (my style) to classic. I love that these mats are machine washable: a must if you’re using it for the front door. The price point is great and I was happy with the quality.
12. 52 Lists Project: 52 Lists for Happiness Book
Gift your favorite Listy McListerson with 52 Lists for Happiness: Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity, Balance, and Joy. This book will help the reader “discover the keys to their own unique happiness and bring more joy and balance into their lives. I personally own the original 52 Lists Project book and have enjoyed creating and re-creating weekly journal lists for the past few years (read about my thoughts on it here). One of the things I love most about this type of journal is that it’s quick and easy: no daily commitments and you don’t have to ponder deeply on your innermost thoughts. Plus, these books are pretty to look at. They’re hardcover and very visually appealing, so you could leave them out as a part of a tablescape or styled bookshelf. Bonus!
I hope these ideas helped you round out your shopping lists! Let me know if you have any questions on these products: like I said, I use most of them myself so I can tell you more about them. I don’t own the Vionic slippers (but I really, really want to!) or an Instant Pot (yet — hoping to receive one myself this Christmas), so if you have those I’d love to hear your thoughts about whether they are as great as everyone (including Oprah!) says. Happy holiday shopping, friends!
