Make It Festive
Going full-on head to toe red and green is totally fine if that’s your thing, but if you’re like me and prefer a bit more subtle holiday look, I’ve got you. Here are a few tips and holiday outfit ideas that can add a little holiday cheer to your everyday look.
1. Pops of Red
Red and green are always on the scene during the holidays, but especially red. It’s a warm, vibrant color that seems to usher in good cheer. Red and white (ala candy canes) always looks great, and Go full-on red with a bright sweater, pants, or skirt, or add in pops of red with shoes, belts, bags, and jewelry.

2. Plaid & Buffalo Prints
Buffalo plaids in white-black and red-black and “Christmas plaid” (plaid with a white background and red, black, and green crossing stripes) are trending right now. Plaid pants are having a moment, and plaid accessories and shoes are a fun way to incorporate this trend.

3. Holiday-Specific Graphics
Every year you can count on holiday tees and tops laden with Christmas trees, bells, stars, and more. Graphic tees are a fun piece to work into a more “serious” outfit to up the fun factor.

4. Hints of a Second Print
A good print mix makes both prints pop. When you mix holiday prints, choose a similar color or style, or mix up the size (e.g., a “larger” print and a “smaller” print together).

5. Sherpa, Faux Fur, + Sparkle
Add a little “fabulous” to your everyday holiday looks with something furry or sparkly. A sequined tee with jeans looks chic without even trying, and fur makes everything cozy.

6. White Boots
White boots have been trending for a while now all year round, but they especially add a pop of brightness to a winter-holiday look.

7. When in doubt, match your decor.
If you decorated your home, look around to see what colors and styles you used. Chances are, if you’re liking it in your home, you’ll also like wearing those same colors and styles. Here’s a few snippets of my own holiday home decor this year, and it looks a lot like some of my outfits.
